“Why do you want to be a journalist?”
As a child, I loved to tell stories. I would spend hours pouring over construction paper, crayons, and a few too many spelling mistakes to make sure I was telling the story correctly. As I grew, I found a love for telling other people’s stories; the stories that were both raw and real, without those spelling mistakes. And in that, I found that it is not about telling the story correctly but telling it truthfully.
As a student and journalist at Emerson College, I believe that news is what we must use as a platform to project voices. I find both passion and purpose being that platform.
Pennsylvania
I spent several years volunteering in my community, published a three-part poetry series “Words From the Water”, and created the short film Fever (2023).
Boston
I’m earning a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with minors in Pre-Law and Hearing & Deafness. I’m the News Coordinator at WERS 88.9FM, an Associate Web Producer at WEBN-TV, and the Assistant Managing Editor at Emerson’s Green Magazine.
